The one behind the scenes.
I’m Kelli, the photographer and Doula behind Kelli Slimm Photography & Doula Services. I was born and raised in Central Florida and currently based in Valdosta, GA with my husband, three sons, two huskies(Oakley & Kimber), and our two cows(Bemiss and Dutton). When I’m not behind the camera, I’m busy enjoying life with my family.
I started photography seven years ago in Okinawa, Japan and fell in love. Capturing genuine, raw life moments is my absolute favorite. Families, baby bumps, and newborn babies are what I love the most. There is nothing better than capturing true life moments and reliving them through photographs for generations to come.
In July of 2022 I became a certified Doula. My hope with Doula support is to empower, educate, and support women through a positive birth experience. There is no wrong or right way to give birth and my goal as a Doula is to support you with whatever your birth plan looks like!
Along with my love with photography and doula support comes my love for your family. My clients become my friends. During your sessions or births, I want to help make you feel as comfortable as possible. I want you to trust me with your children and babies. After all, they are our pride and joy, and I want you to know that your child is in good hands. When everyone is relaxed, it’s easier to capture the magic.
Family, maternity, and first year photography are my specialties. Being able to watch families and children grow is something special.
In September of 2023 I opened my first studio tailored to pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. After becoming a doula in late 2022 I quickly realized how much love and passion I had for birth education and advocacy. Becoming a Doula set me on this path that I had no idea what would bring. I am now a Midwifery student and look forward to pursuing my home birth midwifery path in the coming years.
New to the Herd studio is a piece of my heart. Blood, sweat, and tears, where put into the studio to help support our local community through all the phases of life. The studio offers monthly yoga, motherhood circles, birth education, baby showers, and more. I have loved building this birth community and meeting some amazing birth workers and families along the way. My hope and dream is to make sure mothers and families know their birth options and use their education as power in their birth. Birth is a vulnerable and beautiful time in life, it should be treated with love and kindness. I look forward to this birth path expanding and supporting our local community!
